A year of birthday blocks

You can double click for a better look. These are most of the blocks I made for the Birthday Block Swap. I was in 2 groups, making 1 block for one group and 2 for the other group per month. I missed taking a picture of a few blocks unfortunately. It was a fun swap, despite the headaches for the awesome host, Kate. She did a great job of managing so many people. Some of these blocks challenged my patience. Some I just dreaded making. But most streached my abilities as a quilter, and my limits of creativity.
The blocks (Broken Heart pattern from www.quilterscache.com) that I received from Group 3 were used to make 2 quilts similar to this one. Both of these quilts were donated to the children's quilt charity, Project Linus. My Group 4 blocks, New York Beauty, were used to make these for my dining room.
I'd love to see links to things that others have made with their blocks!

I hope my fabulous house wasn't one of the ones you dreaded! I haven't done anything with them yet... and still need to make Kate's block for June.

I am happy to see you were able to put those blocks together.....for me, your's was a "stretch", but a good one. I hadn't done one like that and realized I really needed to be totally precise with that quarter inch. In fact, I am one of those that redid my original block to you. It was a good exercise and I am glad for it.
Your finished quilts and table dressing is great......
It was a good swap.....I'm kind of sorry it is over......Now, I must put my blocks together. I was waiting to see if I would get anymore......

Some fabulous blocks there! Including one I hope is coming my way, lol. Unlike Wendi, I don't think I'm sorry this swap is finished, but I do think I might do another one someday (in the nebulous future) - but with a limit on swappers and probably hand chosen... If such a day ever comes, I will let you know!
