I wonder how it would look if you flipped some of the 9-patches?Emmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08418320852653847841noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26850144.post-17212246567891252272010-11-11T07:02:42.902-08:002010-11-11T07:02:42.902-08:00Hard to say which is better without knowing how mu...Hard to say which is better without knowing how much applique will "cover them up".

I like them all for different reasons: I like the last two better if there will be a lot of open space between the applique (so the piecing can peek out) but the first one if the applique will be dense.Vivianhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17845920248231910491noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26850144.post-42058396628075468522010-11-10T19:33:12.697-08:002010-11-10T19:33:12.697-08:00The third one is my choice. :)The third one is my choice. :)Ivory Springhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06912738976411473827noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26850144.post-59454173944434399432010-11-10T17:18:33.255-08:002010-11-10T17:18:33.255-08:00I like all of them as a background for a beach the...I like all of them as a background for a beach theme quilt that will have applique. My favorite is the bottom one because it looks like the values of light, dark, and medium are more randomly distributed. I am excited to hear about this quilt as you work on its design.Kathyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05440045492355646316noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26850144.post-33935002378712574952010-11-10T10:57:20.463-08:002010-11-10T10:57:20.463-08:00I agree with Tami -- the last one is the most eye-...I agree with Tami -- the last one is the most eye-catching. But you don't want to do all that work if the applique is going to completely detract from it. I have always wanted to do a quilt that depicts a lot of our views around here of snow and tree covered mountains coming down to water. It just hasn't gotten high enough on my to-do list to become a plan yet. I look forward to seeing your progress on this one!Not Lucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01450458967223521985noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-26850144.post-3876505265977219672010-11-10T09:47:21.737-08:002010-11-10T09:47:21.737-08:00I prefer the last one too!
