Project Linus

As many of you know, I am making quilts for Project Linus. It's a non-profit organization that provides handmade quilts, blankets & afghans for children of all ages if they are in the hospital. It also includes premies, and some special cases of children that have lost homes due to fire, etc. So far I have 6 completed and a couple more in the works.

Last week I sent an email to several requesting any and all assistance with supplies, fabric, batting, etc. Many thanks to those that donated or purchased cloth. It will definitely go to good use. I will still need more. If you are itching to clean out your sewing closet somehow, consider the benefit to a child of having a snuggly blanket when he/she is sick. If you are interested in donating, please let me know.

2007

OK, so there's something for me to claim as an early 2007 accomplishment! Two quilt tops are finished (mostly). I have a third in mind to make as well, much simpler. These will be my legacy to our kids, some day when I am gone from this earth. Until then, they will grace our bare hallway. OK, after the few years it takes me to quilt them :-)

The top one I actually started last January, but didn't finish as morning sickness set in. The second is a variation of what I did for Billy & Kirsten, in my colors and whimsical fabrics. Love 'em both!

Oldies but Goodies

Quilt for our bed, before hand quilting was completed.

Made 1988, tied corners. Given to Goodwill 2006. It had a good life!

Made in 1989 for my little brother when he graduated from high school. He still has the quilt.

Baby Quilts

The quilt top for my daughter's quilt, May 2006. It is in the process of being quilted. More pictures to follow. The colors did not photograph well.

Son, Hayden, at 3.5 weeks old laying on his baby quilt that I made and my mother hand quilted. He's now 4 and still sleeps with it! His nursery had a variety of boats in it's theme, mostly done in shades of deep green and purple.

2005 Christmas Quilts

Mom's Christmas present...approx 40" x 40", fully hand quilted, hung on a wrought-iron scroll hanger. Entitled "The Merry Meeting of Marble & Mathematics"

Shows the quilting. There's some trapunto quilting in it as well.

Bill & Kirsten's Christmas quilt. Designed to depict the ocean and all of it's life. Entitled "Ocean's Folly"
