Hanging on By a Thread Translates to a SALE

Note...I am having a SALE...read on for more details.

Many people suffer with seasonal depression. Short and cold days, less exercise, less money after the holidays, etc. Yes, yes and yes. I'm not saying I am depressed, but understimulated and overfrustrated for sure. And if this thermometer does not say freakin cold, what does (hint: the bottom right number is the outside temperature last weekend). We had a snow day last Thursday, then this bitter cold for 2 days. Translation: kids in the house TOO much of the time. Some days I wonder what was so darn alluring about having a baby, that I needed to do it 3 times. Seriously, they all turn into toddlers, which seem challenging at the time. Then they become these sassy, mouthy creatures with attitude that suck up money like water into a dry towel, leaving their parents sprawled in chairs each evening wondering "What have we gotten ourselves into?". And yet the little old ladies everywhere always tell you "Enjoy it, it will be gone so fast". Really?
This quilt was delivered last week to a local client. She made it from her father-in-law's shirts, for the widowed mother-in-law. It actually quilted up very nicely. The man had nice taste - his shirts were not thin whatsoever, and many had a pretty sheen to them.

This is "Groundcover" panto. I have only used it a time or 2 previously, but she requested leaves for the pattern.

I stitched it with a charcoal Glide thread, which also has a lovely sheen. I think she was pleased with the quilt.

Now that I forced you to read through my ramblings, I will mention a sale that I am having until Feb 5. All edge-to-edge (panto and freehand, and stippling) patterns are 20% off. Must mention this discount when you dropoff or mail your quilts. Discount will be taken from my regularly low prices that are given here www.MainelyQuiltsofLove.com. If interested, drop me an email msolomo1@maine.rr.com.

Happy Humpday~

Quilting Sale!

To ring in the month of August, I am running a quilting sale! All pantographs and free-handed edge-to-edge patterns are priced at 1.25 cents per square inch. I am also pricing stippling at a penny per square inch! This is cheaper than just about anywhere, and is ideal for your heavily used utility quilts. I have many patterns to select from. They are shown here ... http://www.mainelyquiltsoflove.com/. I stock a great weight Hobbs 80/20 batting in all widths, and a large selection of thread colors. So get out those quilt tops that have been awaiting quilting and get them done! This is also a great opportunity to get your Christmas and holiday presents finished too.

Iwill accept quilts at this price until further notice (sometime in August).

The sale price is for quilting only, and does not include the typical charges for thread and batting (0.22 cents per square inch). It also applies only for pantographs regularly priced less than 1.7 cents per sq in.

Contact me directly if you have any questions at msolomo1@maine.rr.com
For those of you less familiar with my quilting, I am a longarm quilter with several show awards for the high quality of my work. I assure you that the quilt you receive back will more than meet your expectations.

Penny Longarm Quilting Sale

Penny per square inch Stipple-Only Sale!

I am offering a happy May Sale on those quilts you'd like done with a stippled pattern (sorry...I will quilt all other patterns, but the sale is only on E2E stippling).

This is a great deal! Get those quilt tops finished and out of the boxes! Stippling is a fantastic pattern for the busier and scrappier quilts and for your utility or child quilts that are subject to repeated use and washings.

If you are interested, email me at msolomo1@maine.rr.com or post a comment with a way for me to get in touch with you. I have batting to supply so that does not need to be sent. My website is here.

I will post if I close this sale, but at this point I expect it to be open through the month of May.

Please feel free to post about this on your blog :-)

As always, the quilt tops should be as square and flat as you can piece, with a backing that is a minimum of 3" larger than the top on all 4 sides.

Another Top For Sale

OMG, I have found yet another quilt top that was never finished. When I started my quilting business, I made up 8-10 quilt tops that I thought would be used for practice. The business took off so rapidly, that I have a couple that never actually got finished. So...this is a 65"x85" top and it is for sale.
It is neatly pieced from Free Spirit fabrics of the Annabella and Treetop Fancy lines (you can tell that I loved this stuff 2 years ago!) It is hip with polka dots, sure to please any young to teenage girl. I may have backing fabric that I got at the same time which will coordinate, if interested.
The top is for sale for $55 plus shipping. Paypal please.

Top For Sale

SOLD

Last year sometime I started on a commisison quilt with these fabrics, at a customer's request. The client stopped her payments, and I am now stuck with a 60"x80" top that I don't really wish to finish. It is all top quality fabrics that I have ordered from good online quilt shops. Materials are from the Treetop Fancy and Annabella lines, with some Fairy Frosts thrown in too. It would finish off into a lovely quilt.

And there is more...If you are interested, I have many of these fabrics that I could also sell off to you at between $4-5 per yard. This would facilitate finishing the quilt if interested. Note: I have a large backing piece assembled too that coordinates. If you want the quilt larger, more could be added to the backing.

email me for add'l fabric amounts. This top $50 plus shipping

Penny Longarm Quilting Sale

Penny Quilting Sale!! - Please note I have received 5 people for this sale already, but I will happily quilt your quilt at regular prices.

I have been really busy quilting these last couple of months, but most of it has been custom quilting. This is fun and pleasing work, but it is time consuming and taxing on me. I have not had the usual number of "easier" quilts to work in between the custom jobs that I normally have. So... I am offering you an opportunity to send me your more utility tops to have them quilted at a great deal.

These tops would not be ones that you want any ditch stitching or custom borders. They would probably not be ones that have been appliqued, but that is your choice. This is purely an edge-to-edge design, and it will be one of my medium density designs too. Designs to select from include a meander/stipple, loops, loops & hearts, water ripple, or perhaps swirls. These can be seen on my website http://www.mainelyquiltsoflove.com/ . I am not doing paper pantograph patterns as a part of this sale, but I am a good freehand quilter and have a nice repetoire of my own patterns.

I will take the first 5 people that email me or post a comment (with a way to contact you). There are a few stipulations. Your quilt must be completed and ready to send. I want to receive these quilts within 10 days. The backing must be larger than the top 3-4" per side (all 4). Your quilt and backing absolutely must lie flat and be square as well. You may send batting, but you do not have to.

One cent per square inch for utility quilting is a tremendous deal. Here's how to figure your cost...
1) find square area of your quilt (length times width in inches) and multiply by 0.01
2) either send batting or I can supply at 0.0025 times the square inches
3) thread charge...$4 up to 60" square, $6.50 to a twin, $9 to a queen, $12 king.

No go ahead and email. Get those quilts finished and ready to snuggle under!

email me directly at msolomo1@maine.rr.com

Nan S. -your comment was so I cannot email you back. Please email me at the above email addy.
